Eye Care For Detroit will officially open the city’s first ever walk-in clinic at 7800 W. The clinic will serve local residents and patients from across metro Detroit through a transportation assistance program.

In addition, a mobile eye care clinic will hit the streets, fully equipped to enable participating optometrists and ophthalmologists to perform routine exams and services on site at people’s homes.
“We’ll be ready to serve 200+ patients monthly through our clinic and mobile unit - bringing vision care directly to those who need it most by eliminating mobility challenges and mitigating other challenging factors,” Dr. Moorer explains.
Following his own transformative life experience, during COVID, Dr. Moorer saw the need for these services firsthand. As he worked throughout the pandemic to provide compassionate care to thousands
of homebound patients in and around the city, he discovered a lack of resources, information, insurance coverage, and awareness surrounding eye care – and Eye Care for Detroit was born in 2022.
