EYE CARE MADE SIMPLE

Home: Welcome
Letter from Governor Whitmer_edited_edit

OUR MISSION

Detroit's population (637,601) is at greater risk of avoidable and treatable eye diseases and blindness due to the lack of access to affordable and accessible eye care services, awareness of eye health needs, costs, and transportation barriers. The mission of Eye Care For Detroit, Inc., (ECFD) is to provide access to high-quality and affordable eye care for Detroit's homebound community (approximately 40,000+ residents) and underserved populations.

* Greatly inspired by the findings of The Vision Detroit Project (2022).

TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE

TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE THROUGH EYE CARE FOR DETROIT

The inability to make it to an eye care appointment should not be a barrier for patients who have limited access to transportation. Eye Care For Detroit partners with local transportation providers to ensure patients can reach their appointments safely and reliably.

Through coordination with DDOT (Detroit Department of Transportation), SMART Bus, and other local transit services, we help eligible patients connect with community-based transportation resources.
